Podcasts Since 2003

In 2003, I first became acquainted with the medium of podcasts. It was love at first sight (or hearing.) I started with shows by Adam Curry and the Dutch Catholic priest Fr Roderick, both of whom are still active in podcasting to this day. I even supplied the text for two episodes of ‘The Secrets of Harry Potter.’ Unfortunately, that show is now only available through Patreon.
I loved being able to listen to different shows. I had a daily commute from The Hague to Amsterdam during that time, so it was a perfect companion on the train.
Ever since 2003, I’ve listened to podcasts off and on. It depends on what activities I have during my day and whether I’m able to listen to such a show at that moment.

App Crash

I switched to using Apple’s Podcasts app on my phone since it so conveniently connected with my Apple TV. Right after I had added a list of podcasts that I found on Reddit, one day, my library was empty. All of the podcasts I had added were wiped. Since then, I have switched back to my old podcast app ‘Downcast‘ which luckily still had some of my older shows there.

My Pick

So much for my history with this medium. I want to share with you the best sex podcasts that I have found over the years. There aren’t that many, and you can easily find long lists with recommendations with a simple Google search. Nonetheless, I wanted to share the few that I like most, but I want to start with a few suggestions from my husband.

My Husband’s Choice
Ropecast

My husband has been listening to podcasts as long as I have, so long before he had met me. One show he is particularly fond of is the ‘Ropecast‘ by Graydancer. When we still lived in different parts of the country, he would listen to these productions while in the car. This show is about bondage and everything to do with it. There are many interviews with people from the industry, and they touch on many subjects dealing with BDSM and public play.

Polyamory Weekly

Another favourite of my husband from this period is ‘Polyamory Weekly‘ by Minx. In the past eleven (!) years, she has dealt with everything to do with this form of relationship. As you can imagine, she discusses a broad range of issues that may arise within such a bond.

Loving BDSM

The last two years, my husband has been listening to Kayla Lords’ show ‘Loving BDSM‘. My husband was surprised that there were other people with a dynamic so similar to ours. Just last week, after listening to their show, he sat me down and fired all sorts of questions at me about the lockdown and how I saw our dynamic during this time. We had a useful discussion, and it cleared the air. That’s how valuable a podcast can be.

My Choice
My Dad Wrote a Porno

A show that’s not so useful but which has tremendous entertainment value, is ‘My Dad Wrote a Porno‘. It started in 2015, but I only recently listened to the first episodes. I was giggling so hard that my husband asked what was happening.
The premise is that the father of the host has written a porno called ‘Belinda Blinked.’ The host and two friends read this text and comment upon it. It’s hilarious.
I recognise the style in which ‘Belinda Blinked’ was written. It’s just like stories I read online twenty years ago, and yes, maybe close to what I could have written.

Fun fact: my father too wrote porno stories. While snooping in his closet as a teenager, I found stories written by him, stories which are quite similar to the style I write today. Unfortunately, I don’t have them, as they’ve gotten lost after he passed away.

Nobilis Erotica

Another podcast about erotic fiction, but not that poorly written, is ‘Nobilis Erotica.’ They focus on science fiction stories, and some are quite good. I remember listening to one of their stories while in the tram in The Hague, which was an interesting experience, to say the least. It feels extra naughty to listen to such content in a non-sexual environment as a tram or bus.

AudioPorn: TryQuinn

There’s one more category to discuss here that’s not a podcast, but close enough: Audio-porn. Three years ago, I found Gaelforce‘s content. He’s a man from Ireland who records sexual audio clips, often pretending he’s your lover. It’s funny how that works, but even though I’m in a happy marriage, when I close my eyes and listen to this man through my headphones, I still smile and feel seduced. I wish I had known about him when I was still single. I’m sure it would have made me feel better.
You can find his content on the website ‘Quinn‘. The site is a platform for audio-porn. The best part is that it’s all free. The performers use it to gain exposure for their paid content channels, such as Patreon. There’s a wide range of scenes in every genre imaginable. It’s a great initiative.

From Now Until Forever

These are the only sexually-themed podcasts I listen to. I’ve tried others, but often they’re not to my taste. And if I seek some distraction during the morning, I prefer for it to be non-sexual.
I love the freedom podcasts allow me, to have something to listen to other than what’s on TV or on Netflix. I love that it’s available to everyone, both to listen to the productions or to start one yourself. I love how it’s still around and seems to gain in popularity every year. As far as I’m concerned, I hope they never go away.

  1. I don’t listen to many Podcasts. I don’t ever seem to have the time to really give them my attention. I used to listen to Floss’s podcast. But it is no longer happening. Most of the other podcasts I listened to have also gone the way of the dodo.

    1. Many of the podcasts I used to listen to have vanished indeed, or worse, went behind a paywall. Unfortunately I’m not rich enough to pay a set amount per month for every podcast that I enjoy.

      Thanks for reading ☺️

  2. I have really made an effort to listen to podcasts, but it wasn’t really a success, as I just don’t seem to be able to keep my attention with it. It’s strange though, since audio books do keep my attention. Something to ponder…

    1. Lol, I have it the other way around ?
I’ve reviewed a number of audiobooks for Wordwooze Publishing, but I found it hard to focus completely on the text. When listening to a podcast, I can dream away and pick the narrative back up a few moments later without having missed vital information. With books, it’s easier to lose the thread of the story. To each their own, I guess ?‍♀️
