Like last week, I had no idea what I was going to post for this week’s challenge. I have searched online for hours, but couldn’t find anything I liked. And then, as I was lying in bed this morning, the answer came to me. The lyrics literally are ‘nicht mehr als ein Insekt’ – ‘nothing more than an insect.’ And so, very last-minute, I constructed this post.
I’ve written about Subway to Sally before, when I wrote about the song ‘Krähenkönig‘. Their lyrics are often poetic. The same goes for ‘Königin der Käfer.’ Listening to the song, I can sort of understand what they mean, but I don’t think there’s a one-off explanation. I’m not sure if they’re talking about a psychological issue or literally someone who’s living on the streets. Either way, it’s a beautiful song and it did match the prompt word ‘bugs.’ And the video is beautiful too, bugs and all.
