Okay, this is the part where I begin with a deeply emotional story on how much the song has meant in my life. Truth is, until yesterday, I had never heard of this song. I was a bit lost on what to post this week, but I didn’t want to lose out since it’s a weekly challenge. But when I found this number, I liked both the sound and the lyrics.

For as far as I understand it, the basic premise is that you have to go your own way. Don’t follow the masses. Make up your own mind and do what’s best for you. I completely agree with this statement. Especially now, with intense political discussions left and right, we shouldn’t lose track of the big picture.
Take a breath and see what’s important to your life and your family, both online and offline. Don’t hurt people and fix your life where needed.

FixUrLifeUp – Prince

Tell me how some people walk in the sun
While others just walk in the dark
Lookin’ at the world through the barrel of a gun
Hands behind their back and a parked car
America you might fair better
London your sure to be toast
You’ll always get the dream that you deserve
From what you value the most

You need to fix your life up
Fix your life up
Fix it up

Go with the guitar is twelve times better than another crazy voice
Trying to be a star
When you’re just another brick in a misogynistic world, the noise
When the leaders learn how to follow
And then all the people lead
Instead of everybody getting what they want
They can get what they need

You need to fix your life up
Alright
Fix your life up
Fix your life up

Don’t worry about what the crowd does
Just worry about being good at what you love
Don’t make this comṗlicated
You know it’s true
Don’t make us put somebody else in for you

  1. 3rdeyegirl with American drummer Hannah Welton, Canadian guitarist Donna Grantis and Danish bassist Ida Kristine Nielsen look really cool in this song and so does Prince. Nice choice.

  2. Perhaps this song perfectly reflects the trends of the current day. I was somewhat surprised to hear it. Earlier it seemed to me that the work of the Prince is more frivolous.
